No individual, couple or family responds to one specific approach to counseling/therapy. I make every effort to tailor my tools and techniques to the individual needs, preferences and comfort level of my clients.

I provide counseling for individuals & couples; adults & seniors.

Therapeutic approaches I utilize include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpersonal — Discussion and guidance focusing on life situations and relationships within family, social and work environments.
  • Cognitive-behavioral — Looks at, and helps to change, negative thought patterns and behaviors through various discussions, tools and techniques.
  • Strength Based — Solution focused — targets desired outcome of counseling/therapy as a solution rather than focusing on symptoms or issues that brings the client into counseling. Gives attention to the present and future desires of the client, rather than focusing on the past. I encourage you to imagine the future you want to create and then partner with you on a series of steps to achieve your goal(s).
  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) — often referred to as “tapping” or psychological acupressure, EFT is relatively easy to learn and can help one reduce negative emotions, reduce food cravings, reduce pain and implement positive goals.
  • Religious/Spiritual Practices — At the client’s request, I am prepared to incorporate his/her religious/spiritual practices. I believe it is the client’s choice as to how he/she expresses his/her belief system and can honor and integrate it into the counseling process.
